Member Standards
General
requirements
All members shall:
*1. Uphold the By-laws and Member Standards of WATD.
*2. Report violations of these Standards and/or Bylaws by other members, to the WATD Board of Directors in writing.
*3.
Remain current on membership dues - thereby helping to support
WATD in its endeavors.
*4. Uphold all decisions of the Board of Directors of WATD.
*5. Participate in the committee(s) of their choosing, for the
betterment of
the organization, which in turn will strive to better the lives
of the animals.
*6. Refrain from unnecessary and non-constructive criticism of
the
organization, other member's animals, and/or from personal
attacks upon
fellow members.
Personal
Animals
All members shall:
*8. Provide all animals in their care proper and healthy
environment,
nutrition, and vet care at all times. Insure that no animal in
their care be
treated in an inhumane manner, be subjected to cruel punishment,
be
intentionally placed in danger, or become the victim of
bestiality.
*9. Recognize the added responsibility as owners/caretakers of
captive
wolves and wolf-dog hybrids, and in accordance with this, not
allow their animals to roam at large unsupervised, or become a
public nuisance.
*10. Be aware and acknowledge that owning any wolf, wolf-dog
hybrid, or other companion canine is a commitment to that animal
for it's lifetime. If
unable to keep the animal the member shall see that it is placed
responsibly
in an appropriate home or sanctuary. If unplaceable, the owner
shall have
the animal humanely euthanized.
BOD
Members shall:
*11. Have all companion animals in their possession spayed and
neutered
unless doing so is medically inadvisable. Be willing to provide a
veterinarian's certification upon request.
Educational
responsibilities
All members shall:
*12. Teach humane and safe animal care whenever and wherever
possible.
*13. When asked, discuss all aspects, both positive and negative,
about the
suitability of wolf-dog hybrids as pets and/or companions.
*15. Distribute brochures about the organization and wolf-dog
hybrids as pets, wherever appropriate.
*16. Promote spay neuter of all companion animals not intended
for, or
appropriate for, responsible breeding.
Privileges/Duties
of Different Levels of Membership
Junior/Senior
Membership
$20. (for those under 18 or over 55) - supportive
in nature, help fund wolf-dog hybrid education with dues, and may
belong to a committee or committees . Member packet will be sent
to this level of membership.
General
Membership
$25. - supportive in nature, helps fund wolf-dog hybrid education
with dues, and may belong to a committee or committees. Member
packet will be sent to this level of membership.
Charter
member $35.
(second page questionnaire must be filled out for this
level) - Voting member. Expected to serve on a committee or
committees.
Member packet will be sent to this level of membership. In
addition to
member packet, updates of current educational materials will be
included
with each renewal.
Family
Membership
$40. For 2 or more adults in the same household.
Supportive in nature, helps fund wolf-dog hybrid education with
dues, and may belong to a committee or committees. Member packet
will be sent to this level of membership.
Charter
family membership
$55. (second page questionnaire must be filled
out for this level) - Voting member, one vote for each adult in
the
household, up to 2. Expected to serve on a committee or
committees. Member packet will be sent to this level of
membership. In addition to member packet, updates of current
educational materials will be included with each year's
membership renewal.
Animal
Care Professional
$25. (must present proof of affiliation with
application - proof can be a copy of your professional
affiliation or
company ID card) supportive in nature, helps fund wolf-dog hybrid
education with dues, and may belong to a committee or committees.
Member packet will be sent to this level of membership.
Charter
Animal Care Professional $35. (must present proof of affiliation
with application - proof can be a copy of your professional
affiliation or
company ID card) (second page questionnaire must be filled out
for this
level) - Voting member. Expected to serve on a committee or
committees.
Member packet will be sent to this level of membership. In
addition to
member packet, updates of current educational materials will be
included
with each renewal.
These member standards are subject to change or revision by a 2/3
vote of
the BOD.
